Sustainability

From our inception in 1940, we have taken pride in being an ethical jewellery brand, which stands for a combination of our values and dedication to quality & style. Integrity, we believe is the mandatory virtue needed to take the pledge of being a sustain

The word ‘sustainability’ in the context of a brand means a constant focus on meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. At Narayan we further divide our initiatives into three pillars to ensure better focus - social, environmental, and economic. Here is a snap-shot into our sustainability story so far.

Social

Right from the word go, Narayan has been dedicated to thoughtful sourcing, fair wages and giving back to its “Karigars” (artisans) by providing additional benefits to its artisans and employees. We also take on new artisans and craftsman - a sustainable practice towards ending cycles of poverty through employment. We follow the employment law strictly and do not encourage child labour.

As a brand we also believe in philanthropic associations with NGOs. One such example is our liaison with the Smile Foundation, by which we have adopted 100 kids to support Girl Child Empowerment through education and nutrition. We also participate in auctions to raise funds for social causes. Our pieces have been selected across several retailers PAN India and auctioned by Christie’s for the social cause of educating girl child under the aegis of Nanhi Kali. Sotheby’s too, auctioned two of our jewellery pieces for the social cause of saving Elephant’s worldwide.

Environmental

We believe that jewellery has a lot of sentimental value for our customers and hence has to be made ethically, for it to be worn for decades and even passed down to new generations. True to this belief, we have always designed sustainable jewellery for luxury lovers with a conscience.

Every piece we create is designed and crafted with sustainably sourced materials ensuring there is no use of black gold, blood diamonds or gems.

Economic

Narayan Jewellers believes that responsible business practices and high quality, affordable jewellery go hand in hand. We have a completely transparent pricing structure to keep intact the trust our clients have in us and ensure constant trust building with our new customers.

We were also the first jewellery brand in Vadodara to get the BIS Hallmarking License and the first to also ensure that every piece of our jewellery is third party certified.
